Waste Management

Waste management is a key player in maintaining business's impact on the environment. Far too often sending waste to landfill becomes the easy option. The current waste management culture is to charge for collection and charge for landfill with very little, if any, financial return for the customer. Yet further income is gained by the waste companies on the sale of recycled commodities extracted from the waste they collect.

Cabenco has indentified very clearly the need for a dramatic change in how waste is dealt with. Managing waste at its source is the most successful way to ensure that:-

Most employees believe that the bin is the end of their responsibility for waste. Most companies believe their responsibility ends when their waste leaves the building. To follow recyclables is a very enlightening experience especially when you find out how much the waste companies receive in rebates for products and just how much that can be recycled ends up in landfill.

How many people really understand that the cost for landfill is calculated on weight? Just to pluck out of the rubbish hidden in black bags a half full bottle of water someone has discarded can make an impact. Now pull out 50 half full bottles of water, pour the liquid down the drain and recycle the bottle, possibilities are endless and I am only scrapping the surface. Black bags will soon become a thing of the past in favour of clear "nothing can be hidden" bags.

Our unique process of waste management relies on a qualified team to ensure our systems of collection and separation for all waste produced achieves maximum value for each commodity.
